Paige is WALKING!

Last Saturday it became official!! Paige is WALKING!!! (This video just proves that my house can be a mess. Most of my friends think I keep a spotless house!). We are so excited for our big girl. She likes it when I count to her and I asked her if she could take 3 steps. She had been doing the one, two drop for about a week. The more I counted the more she got up and tried. Off she went! She is still crawling but I noticed even today she is already starting to walk more than crawl. Pretty soon crawling will be a total thing of the past. Time for cute and good walking shoes!

Claire is doing a gymnastics camp this week and enjoying her afternoons there. Summer is just flying by still. 4.5 weeks til school. Yes, I keep counting it down because I can't believe it's really happening. I know I said I wouldn't be a sad sap but I do get a little pit in my stomach thinking about her being gone from 8:30-3. It's a long day! Then I remember that she will get used to it and that our AZ school districts take 2 week breaks every 8 or so weeks and also Thanksgiving and Easter. It will be okay. Right?? Right!

A whole new world

Yep, I turned her around. It's so hot and facing backwards makes it even harder to cool down in 110 temps. Not that I take her safety lightly or feel getting A/C is more important. I just felt she was ready and that big ass seat isn't moving an inch. Anyone who has owned a Britax knows these seats are HUGE! Her first car ride facing forward was so cute. She was checkin' out her feet which now hang down over the side. She has these little teeny baby feet and these pictures make them look huge. She was quite please with herself and maybe a little nervous for a minute since forward facing isn't as reclined as rear facing. She was upright and checking out the world.

I love seeing her face now when I look back. She gives me these big ole grins. LOVE!

Instagrams

I am loving the Instagram app on my phone. At first, I thought it was only an app to take pics with and then change the filter (and in my opinion kinda make them look old and crappy). I wasn't really impressed with making your picture look like it was taken in 1977. Not that my camera phone (which claims to be so badass ) takes great pictures anyways. As I so very often am...I was wrong. It's so fun and you can share pics with friends and comment on pics. Yep, I am guilty of making my pics look old and crappy but it's fun and addicting!

These pics aren't the best example of Instagram. I took them in horrible lighting but the girls were being sweet and sitting with me together! That never happens.

Recital Day

My big girl has her dance recital today. I am so proud of her and how much she has accomplished this past year. She has been in this class since last August. She really has enjoyed the class and looked forward to going every week. She wants to try soccer next so we are signed up to start that in September. I think she will come back to dance at some point but I can understand after almost a year of classes that she wants to try other things. We have LOVED Artistic Motion and our teacher Miss Mandy! We are going to miss our friends and our Chic fil A breakfast on Tuesday mornings. I will miss seeing my friends too. I made new friends from this class and I know we will stay in touch long after dance is over!

VBS

Claire has been at Vacation Bible School this week. She is loving it and so am I. I love hearing her talk about God. She was playing with her My Little Ponies yesterday and telling them to trust in God. So cute. I hope as she grows up I can help instill more faith in her heart. Our afternoons are chill and Claire loves to takes lots of bath and bring all her ponies in the tub.

Paigey baby officially learned how to stand without holding on to anything this week. She had her therapy evaluation Tuesday and she blew them away! She didn't qualify for physical therapy (which I kind of figured but we wanted to be sure). So awesome. The physical therapist said she wouldn't even label her with "delayed gross motor skills". She is average and doing things in a normal time frame just on the later end. No biggie! Her doctor told me at the last visit that "delayed" could be a strong word because she was progressing. Not that I feared this label would follow her to college but I am glad that we are leaving it in the dust. We are so excited to see her cross these milestones. She is the sweetest girl ever!

Ponyville in the tub
Claire giving me her "fancy" face in her VBS shirt. They have to wear this every single day for a week. This shirt is going to disintegrate after all the washing in one week.
How many puffs can Paige put in her mouth?
I tried to do piggies in her hair.
Standing machine!!!

Mish Mash

I swear we have been having more fun than these pictures depict but I never seem to take pics of the fun stuff. I am the one who brings a baggie to the pool for my phone so I never get it out for pics. We did have some fun last week swimming with friends at their pool. Claire had a buddy over last week to play for the afternoon. That was awesome because they entertained each other. Love this age!!  Afternoons at home while little sister naps can be quite boring. Watercolors to the rescue and special trips to Sonic for a cool drink are a great way to spend the day! I don't want to speak too soon since it's only the 2nd week but I feel like summer is flying by and school will be here before we know it! Only 6 more weeks. I am not sure I am ready.

Go Paige Go

I bought this push toy on Saturday afternoon and she is already a motoring machine!! Look at her go. She is cruising away like walking is no big thing at all. We even had some music on and asked her to dance and she just started grooving! We were just cracking up. YEAH PAIGE!!! She is starting to stand here and there without holding on. It won't be long before she is toddling away and I will be chasing her down the aisles at Target.

Star

How cute is this video of Claire singing us her song for school graduation?! Claire usually NEVER sings her songs before the class party day. She takes it very seriously that it is a surprise for mom and dad. Her lips ain't sinkin' no ships. The night before her graduation she sang this one song in her sweet little voice. She is just so little to me some days and so big others. When she opens her mouth and recites countries in Africa and Europe she reminds me of how big she is getting. When she sasses me with attitude or gets embarrassed when I get on to her in front of her friends she reminds me of how big she is getting. Then there are those moments when they are quiet and sweet and little.

"I'm a little star. Shining bright. Getting bigger every night. When I finish preschool, I will shout...I'm a star so you better watch out!!!"
