Cheese face

Biscuit has a new "cheese" face. My still photo was not the best so I captured a video of her new smile. I would say I don't know where it came from but Eric and I have a long running little inside joke that involves a similar cheesy smile. We about died when she just turned to us this weekend and was smiling like a goose with all her might!

Claire also loves the phone a great deal. What girl doesn't after all? She found this cute little phone in the Pottery Barn Kids store and it was love at first sight!

Daddy went to help Uncle Gordon move into his new house this weekend. She thought it would be funny to try on Dad's work boots! NICE! We can't wait for Gordon to relocate for good soon! I woke up Saturday and came downstairs to find Unkie G and Claire having tea and toast at the kitchen table. Too stinkin cute!

Today was ballet class. She made it all the way through dance class today. She did cry but she was so brave and managed to stick it out. When class was over she came out of the room with lollipop in hand. She bawled when she saw me of course. I was so proud of her though. She told everyone that...."I MADE IT!". She can now buy the t-shirt that says..."I survived ballet class!!". Maybe next week she'll actually have some fun!

What's new in my world

I got inspired recently. A friend of mine started selling jewelry by doing in home trunk shows and other fun events. It is called Stella & Dot. I absolutely love this jewelry and I am not a big jewelry person. So I decided to follow in her footsteps and sell the product myself. I have never done anything like this in my life. I don't see this as some get rich quick scheme. Just a fun way of making money and having something for me to enjoy. Sales has never really been my thing but my goal right now is to just have fun and see what happens (and maybe break even! ha!). And of course get some great jewelry in the meantime. I am anxiously awaiting the jewelry I ordered to start my collection!

I even have a website:

Trainwreck in tights

Don't get me wrong here. Claire was adorable as could be in her ballet outfit. She was grinning from ear to ear when we got to the dance studio today. It was after the door opened to the dance room and the teacher called everyone into class that the trainwreck began. She was petrified to go in without me as she watched another little girl sobbing in the teachers arms. Not a good start. I know she is young but this really is an age appropriate class...minus mom though! They play dress up and listen to fun music while tip toeing across the floor. We are going to try again next week so wish us luck that things will get better. Claire has some serious stamina when it comes to crying and wanting her mama back. Whew...it can wear anyone out!

If she looks a little tired in the first pic it's because she partied hard last night with her aunt and uncles. She couldn't be any more excited or wound up than when she's around her "fan club" (which is everyone in our families and that's a lot of people!). She slept in til 8 today. I actually had to wake her up. She lifted her little head and the first word out of her mouth was...."Carolyn". Her Aunt Carolyn was the last face she saw last night and she was ever so hopeful that she was still around. She was halfway back to Chicago though.

Happy Daddy Day

We had a nice low key Dad's day. A little lunch at Gordon Biersch. A little playground time. Some steaks for dinner so Dad could be grill master or "Patio Dadio". We are such lucky girls to have a great man in our life. We don't tell him often enough but he is pretty darn special!

New styles

I hear Claire upstairs the other day yelling down for me..."MAMA, MAMA!!! I'm rweddy!" Well this I have got to see. I snapped this pic so we could all see what "ready" meant to Claire. A skirt over the head, no pants, and one shoe on! NICE! To her credit the shoe was velcroed before I took the pic.

She was sitting in my lap yesterday and I was playing with her hair. I realized that if I put blood, sweat, and tears into it I can do pigtails in her hair!

More park fun

We had brief run at the park this morning. Claire and I went cruising around the neighborhood in search of other playgrounds in the Spectrum community. We found a good one! It's always fun to try something new. Today she was dressed a little more like herself! teehee! It has been a fun Friday. Played at the park, threw a tantrum leaving the park, took a dip in the play pool, ate some hot dogs while coloring outside, and jumped on the couch (this gives me a heart attack!). What more could a girl want! We are looking forward to a relaxing weekend and a fun birthday party on Sunday.

Park Pics

Claire and I went to playground this morning. The weather has been pretty nice this week. Claire got this seersucker outfit last year as a gift. It so reminds me of something I would have worn when I was her age. I absolutely love apron back tops! The difference is that I was dainty and would have just sat in this outfit looking cute. Claire is...well...always going at full tilt! Don't get me wrong. She looks sweet in anything but she just has this spunk about her that I don't see in my kid pics.

Who's the baby?

Claire had some buds over the other day and one was this little 2 month old cutie, Nash. Claire was pointing at his feet saying "toes...toes"! The girl likes to point out people's toes. She also likes to say "eyes" and poke us in the eyeballs. For Nash's sake I drew the line at feet!

I pulled out Claire's old bouncer seat in case he wanted to chill in something other than his car seat. Although he didn't end up needing the seat, someone else decided they liked the seat very much! I found her watching her movie on the computer it in one morning and the next day she was in it again! Let's just say we haven't put it away yet!

Claire's jiberish

Claire has been doing this little babble talk for awhile now. I finally caught some on tape today while we were at Target. It cracks me up. She has so many words in her vocabulary but she still loves to sound like a little turkey! =)

Hot summer days

We have just been trying to beat the heat over here in AZ! Claire has been to the splash pad (which lasts all of 20 minutes then we are off to the pet store!). We went to eat pizza and this restaurant gives pizza dough to the kids to play with. Awesome idea. Not messy like you may think and very time consuming! Some days we just hang inside. Claire knows it's too hot outside so she just looks at the yard!
