The wheels in her head

...are certainly turning! Claire has just been talking up a storm lately. Lots of babbling and lots of new words. She is also repeating and copying us quite a bit. I thought that started later down the road but I thought wrong. Apparently I sigh whenever I am frustrated and now Claire has been walking around the house sighing very loudly. When I first heard her sighing like me I said "Oh Lord!" and what do you think came out of her mouth next...."ooooohhh lerd". GREAT! Guess it's time to really start watching our actions and words!

My sis in law and I took Claire to the pet store at the mall and she fell in love with the bulldog there. Too cute. She did NOT want to leave the store. Carol and I had quite the time getting her to the car and in her car seat. Can we say tantrum! I also took Claire to the car wash with me this week and she quite enjoyed watching the cars come through the wash. She studied them very carefully. Every time one came through the wash she yelled...""CAAAR!". Very exciting!

Our week so far...

We have gone to the mall, hung out with Claire's aunts and uncles, had birthday party fun, and had a tangle with a bush all in the past 3 days. As you can see Claire's arm got some new scratches from an ocotillo plant. That bush/tree thing has some crazy thorns on it and she stumbled in to one. She is a trooper though and after a good cry hasn't given one thought to those scratches. After her nap she was dancing while holding her blanket. She was a happy camper.

Not much new happening over here at the Cox household. We did have some baby items posted to Craig's List since we have decided to only have the Claire Bear. We got one offer and we totally choked! HA! So...what does this mean? We don't know. We like having just Claire but maybe just maybe the future is written differently than we think! It's all good either way.

Claire's BFF's

Claire loves her Big Bird and her Kitty! She is so funny about them. You cannot pick her up from her crib without gathering up her buddies, her pillow, and her blanket. It's a good thing she doesn't have a full bed set in that crib! The other morning I saw her put her buddies on the couch and then try to cover them up with her blanket. It looks she may be giving them some of her 17 month old wisdom! Too cute!

Girl's Day

Just some pics of the past 2 days. We had a quick trip to Freestone park yesterday. She liked the ducks and ran around like a crazy girl! Look at those little red cheeks!

Today I took her to Chandler Mall for some Mommy and Claire time. We just strolled around, played, shopped, and had a big slice of cheese pizza at the food court! We had a great day hanging out together. Gotta love girl time at the mall. I hope we share this pastime for years to come!

Capturing the good moments

Another reason for the constant video footage (besides for memories sake) is to remind me that the day isn't all crabby and frustrating lately. Claire is teething and just being a toddler these days. Everyone said the molars were tough teeth to pop and they weren't kidding. Claire is the sweetest little girl but she can't communicate and control all her emotions yet. She can be so happy one minute and so emotional the next. I love the happy pics and videos because it reminds of the bright parts of the day. Not the parts where I am carrying her out of the gymnastics place under my arm like a football because she is having a complete meltdown. You gotta love that laugh after a long day!
